AT SEASONS' END

At Season's end a flower ceases to bloom,
A tadpole transcends into a frog,
An embryo swims inside the womb,
Puppies are weaned from the mother dog,
As kittens leave the litter,
Trees shake off their colorful leaves,
As the sweetness of fruit begins to bitter,
The farmers harvest the grain and oats,
Before the winter's eve,
The earth takes on a different coat,
Bears begin to feed their young,
To prepare them for their nap,
Children make sure their stockings are hung,
And their presents are neatly rapped,
Mothers are busy baking cakes,
Cookies are on the stove,
Fathers are sitting by the lake,
Tempting fish to leave the cove,
The trees are filled with glitter and gold,
As the sound of carols sing through the wind,
Life will come and life will go,
As a New Season begins.
